*Notes from Jan If you have never eaten a pomegranate before, this will be an experience! I think pomegranates are quite possibly the most beautiful fruit on the earth. Before you start – take a deep breath. This will require patience. Also, please wear an apron or DO NOT wear any clothing that you will be upset if you get a stain on…pomegranate is a beautiful color, but can stain clothing and fingers. POM Wonderful has great “How To” information for selecting, opening, storing your pomegranate and MORE. You will notice that the inside of the pomegranate is segmented – almost like an orange! Admire nature’s intricate beauty – this is a very important step. You can purchase pomegranate arils themselves, but you will pay a premium price, and I believe the process of opening your pomegranate connects you to what you eat and will make you appreciate your food even more…therefore preventing binge eating 😉 If you are not up for making this recipe but still want some good Valentine’s Day sweets, visit my fellow IIN graduate Vanessa Barg’s Gnosis Chocolate website for chocolate that will literally rock your world!
